Fonseca Martial Arts
Kids 4 and up
Your child will be taught by the very best instructors in karate while having fun both indoors and outdoors with fellow campers. All camp weeks are from Monday - Friday, with half-day and full-day options available.
In our Karate Summer Camp, kids learn firsthand how focused effort pays off! From 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, they will advance through our karate curriculum including belt tests and dojo tournaments while developing skills, increasing their level of fitness, making new friends, and having fun. Afternoons from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm are spent having a good time with fellow campers at local parks and beaches, doing arts and crafts, taking part in structured activities, and more.
Mudlark Theater
Kids 6-9, Kids 10-14
With over 60 different camp options, there is literally something for everyone at Mudlark this summer! Scholarships are available. Among the possibilities:
Music Stars 2019: The Musical Offering
Kids, Teens 9-17
Our one- or two-week summer intensives give students the opportunity to help create a unique musical production by taking existing shows and giving them hilarious new twists. In Music Stars, students will help create and perform in a mashup of two very different musicals, and in The Rocky Horror Spoof Camp, they'll get to rock out with a live electric band as they add their own spin to the cult classic movie The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Students get to sing, dance, and act their hearts out while also flexing their writing and composing skills (or learning those skills from scratch if they've never learned them before!) in these fun, unique summer camps.
Open Studio Project
Kids 6-12
The perfect way for children to spend their summer mornings: Being creative in an open and playful atmosphere. Children 6-12 years old can be dropped off from 9AM-12PM to enjoy a morning of fun art-making. They will have a blast exploring a variety of 2-D and 3-D materials with OSP's children's art facilitator Jan Ellenstein. Some specific art projects will be planned around a theme, but children will have freedom to explore all of our art materials. Every week, we will paint, build, sculpt, imagine and more! All materials are provided. Possible Themes:
Life's A Beach: Make your own beach scene with sand and seashells.
Out of This World: Travel into space and explore aliens, stars and the solar system.
Water Wonders: Experiment with water and create your own under-water adventure.
Into the Green: Explore forests, jungles and the nature that inhabits them.
Beasts & Bugs: Create your own 3-D creature and explore a bug's life.
School of Rock
All ages
SONGWRITING: Let your inner songwriter come out! Songwriters will compose, rehearse, and record their own original music in a professional recording studio. Songwriters will learn song form, song arrangement, how to create a groove, and how to develop mood. There will be clinics on lyric writing, harmonies, and how to develop all the musical elements found in rock and pop songs. The last day of the camp will be spent at the studio laying down tracks in this real world experience of songwriting.
I LOVE ROCK N ROLL: Put another dime in the jukebox, baby! This camp will be focused on all the Rock jukebox hits through the decades. Campers will learn about the roots of Rock all the way through today’s music by learning the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and now! Campers will form bands, pick songs, and play a real rock show for friends and families at the end of the week.
