On Saturday October 26 at 11:00am, we're kicking off the Main-Dempster Mile Spooky Saturday Trick-or Treating with author Jarrett Dapier and the Skeleton Drummers on the Brothers K patio! They'll be silly and spooky, and then Jarrett will read THE MOST HAUNTED HOUSE IN AMERICA, his spooky book!

We love the spooooooks--especially this time of year! And it just so happens that local author Wendy Parris' new book for 8-12 year olds, called Stage Fright, gives all the age-appropriate scares we could ask for! So we're having a party with her!
There will be skull activities! Exclusive Stage Fright giveaways! And you can meet the author and hear her stories of writing spooky books for middle grade readers! We promise the party--and Wendy--will not be scary at all! (And the book is a really great locked room mystery!)Evanston Animal Hospital

This Saturday, October 26th, we will be helping judge the pet costume contest again at The Main-Dempster Mile's Spooky Saturday block party!
Due to the feline turn out last year, there will be 2 winners this year - 1 cat and 1 dog!
Stop by our table between 4pm to 5pm to sign up your pet. The judging will start at 5pm after the kids costume parade.

Experience the thrill of vintage cinema at Opus 327's fourth annual silent film event! This year, we're proud to present a Halloween-themed screening featuring the iconic vampire film 'Nosferatu.' Special guest organist Jay Warren of the Silent Film Society of Chicago will provide a captivating live score on the mighty Opus 327 organ.
Before the main feature, the whole family can enjoy a special showing of the 1920s Mutt & Jeff cartoon, 'Slick Sleuths,' where the dynamic duo faces off against a mischievous ghost.
Dress to impress for our costume contest, with two generous prizes of $100 gift certificates to Chicago-Main Newsstand. Don't miss this unforgettable evening of vintage entertainment, perfect for film enthusiasts and Halloween fans alike!
